My name is Sebastian Manuel Del Valle Alfonzo Manzo. I was born in Valencia, Venezuela. When I was five years old, my family migrated to Minnesota and settled in Saint Paul’s Midway
neighborhood. Here, there, and anywhere love lives is home to me.
I work between digital and analog means of still and moving image making. I like playing with cheap, old, and broken cameras, and believe that powerful images can be created with simple tools. My art is a vehicle for reflection, exploration, and documentation of my perspective and experiences. It is also a means of connecting with my community and learning from it. Making art has catalyzed some of the most meaningful conversations, moments, and relationships in my life. I am in conversation with myself, others, and the world around me throughout my entire
artistic process— so if you see me, feel free to say hello! In addition to my practice I am an organizer for Serpentina Arts, a collective of local Latinx visual artists. Our mission is to foster the creative and professional development of Minnesota Latinx visual artists.
