NE Sculpture connects a national community: Art at the heart of our Northeast Minneapolis community enhances lives by stirring hard-to articulate feelings and inspiring the community to look beyond what we believe to be possible and imagine a more vibrant, safe and exciting future. Community and Public Art reminds us that we’re all creative & intelligent beings and whether we’re making art or music, telling stories or cathartically sharing in experiences, we are ALL connected. The Northeast Arts Community has been bringing people together across boundaries -- increasing understandings across disparate and historically unequal groups, and supporting the agency of underrepresented communities to create, maintain and share their own experiences and stories. Artists and arts organizations are an important resource in the path to building stronger connections within neighborhoods. Opportunities for even-footed conversation among diverse groups lead to insight and a shared sense of community, and in turn lay the groundwork for exploration about how to maintain vital cultural and community traditions while inviting much-needed neighborhood investments. Integrating the arts more fully into our lives enriches each of us, and because engaging in the arts brings individuals together, it fosters community. Art and artists aren’t only in museums or concert halls -- they are all around us. Every one of us has the ability to create and to imagine a way to make our world healthier or stronger.
NE SCULPTURE supports artists in the cultivation and enrichment of our community through art, public art, exhibitions and transformative place-making.
NE SCULPTURE strives to be a leader in exhibiting and placing public art within the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District and other communities around the country.
