Lily Dorian (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist who focuses on experimentation with found objects. She moved to Jackson Mississippi in 2016 to attend Millsaps College where she obtained a BA in Studio Art. Since graduating in 2020 she has exhibited nationally and internationally as well as within residency opportunities. Drawn to creative storytelling, she has worked in the film/ tv industry alongside her studio practice. Now she resides in Indiana as a full time artist. With a self motivated studio practice she is able to experiment freely. She is hungry, as an emerging artist, for the space and time to continue to build her portfolio.

How does one let something go? What does that process of losing and longing look like? Is it possible to ever completely let go of something you previously held onto so tightly? These are the questions that spark my work. As humans with emotions and the capacity to love, there will always be heartache and pain. Accompanying that, we must decide how and when we let go. This is where my work comes in as the sculptural representation of my full desire to be free but the inability to do so, and the tension that lies in the hesitation of letting go.
