Spinning Heads

Spinning Heads Zoetrope, a giant rotating cylinder revisiting animation machines of the early 1800s. Created by artist Andrew MacGuffie, the 5-foot in diameter interactive zoetrope allows numerous viewers to see through special slits as an animation comes to life. This antiquated method of depicting phases of motion is the perfect opportunity for artists Marina Castillo, Ruthann Godollei, Maria Cristina "Tina" Tavera & Xavier Tavera to share contemporary commentary. Through illustrations and graphics the artists each individually express burning issues which will make your head spin.
