Jonah Tripeny-Bush

Bio

Jonah Tripeny-Bush was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, but raised in Minneapolis, MN. He got his BFA in 2026 at Alfred University and is a multi disciplinary artist who specializes in sculpture and print. Jonah combines aspects of interactivity, play, and social issues to create conceptual artworks.

Artist statement

Jonah Tripeny-Bush uses a longing for connection with his audience to inform his artistic practice. Creating conceptual works relating to interaction and play. Building a relationship with the viewer via pop culture references, modern symbolism and interactivity.

Growing up with autism building contentions was challenging and so Jonah creates a space where he can connect with others via his artwork. Creating a space to share his ideas and beliefs via unassuming harmless play while still tackling deeper feelings related to immigration, culture, history, self expression and politics.

Jonah being a multimedia artist allows for different ways to create an idea. Specializing in foundry sculpture but also working in print, video/audio, and ceramics. Allowing for multiple ways of working be digital or 2D/3D to work in tandem to create a place where a dialogue can happen unrestrained from one medium.
